PrussiaxAmerica - Revolutionary War
Heres one of the guns you ordered, Gilbert said, holding it out to the tired American. Alfred took it, looking it over wearily.
Does it actually shoot? he asked.
Yes, it does.
Then itll work.
Gilbert looked at Alfred incredulously.
No complaints?
As long as it works its better than nothing. They may not be the best guns ever, but
Youre really hurting for guns, arent you?
Alfred nodded, the bags under his eyes showing well.
Arthur really is harder to fight with than youd think.
Gilbert laughed, nodding.
But hes so caught up with fighting with France sometimes
Speaking of the pervert, hes helping you too, isnt he?
Alfred nodded again. Gilberts face took on a look of concern.
You dont seem so well. Are you okay?
Yeah. Im fine. Just tired.
Not used to war, are you?
Alfred shook his head. Gilbert grabbed his arm after taking the gun and putting it back with the others and started to drag him into the small inn that Gilbert had been staying in.
Come on. One night of good rest wont kill you or your cause. The others- He pointed at some other soldiers, can take the guns back. A nation needs his rest.
But I need to get back to the troops-
No arguing.
Gilbert closed the door to his room behind him, and pushed Alfred so that he fell onto the bed.
Sleep. Its good for you. Especially during war.
It was quiet for a while, Alfred laying on the bed, and Gilbert sitting in a chair, leaning his head against the back and trying to get to sleep himself.
Gilbert? Alfred said after a while.
Yes, Alfred?
Is it really okay for me to fight Arthur?
Gilbert stood up and sat down next to Alfred on the bed.
Its fine, really. England can be oppressing, so Ive heard.
Alfred sat up, saying,
He is. He wouldnt let me talk to anyone else or trade with anyone else or anything. It was driving me crazy!
Gilbert scooted closer to Alfred, tilting his face like he was curious,
He wouldnt let you talk to me, would he?
Alfred shook his head, and leaned in closer to Gilbert.
Hardly.
Gilbert scooted closer to him again.
Then its very good that youre fighting for your independence.
Im glad you approve.
Gilbert leaned down and caught Alfreds lips in a quick kiss.
Go to sleep, he said after pulling away. He gently pushed Alfred. You really need it.
Alfred nodded, laying back down.
The next morning, Alfred was awoken by Gilbert shaking him.
Come on, wake up. Aufwachen.
Alfred blurrily opened his eyes, before turning over.
You said that I needed sleep, he murmured, so let me sleep.
A small smile crept onto Gilberts face, and his eyes glinted mischievously. He reached down towards Alfreds vital regions slowly, watching Alfreds face for any signs of noticing. When he finally got close enough, he grabbed them, saying loudly,
Ive got your vital regions!
Alfred shot up, swatting Gilbert's hand away and shouting,
Pervert!
Gilbert laughed, long and hard. Alfred glared halfheartedly, smacking the older nation lightly upside the head.
Come on, Gilbert said, standing up straight and still laughing lightly, It really is time for you to get up. Its already almost nine.
Alfred nodded, stretching and climbing out of bed. He was still in his clothes from yesterday, his solider outfit now wrinkled from tossing in the night.
Alfred was about to open the door, when Prussia caught his wrist and pulled him into a hug.
Now, he whispered in Alfreds ear, Im going to send you someone to teach you how to actually fight. Dont tell anyone; Fredrick wouldnt be happy about it. Something about being scared of Arthur. Hes even letting the Hessians go through me. Gilberts face took on a look of annoyance, B-but! Ill try my best. Ill push Francis to help more. And no going off and losing, got it? And thats because thatll be an insult to the awesomeness that is me that tried to help you, okay? N-not because I care about you or seeing you again, okay?
Alfred nodded, smiling, and wrapping his arms back around Gilbert.
Okay.
--------
It was a few years later, when Gilbert found the letter on his desk. He smiled faintly at the scrawl that was so obviously Alfreds. He opened it quickly, and two pieces of paper fell out. One was in Alfreds handwriting, the other in someone elses. He looked at the one in Alfreds hand first.
Dear Gilbert,
I thought youd just like a copy of this. Arthur sent it to me.
And I was wondering if maybe youd come visit me soon.
Alfred
Gilbert smirked at the other paper.
So he had won. This didnt surprise Gilbert much. The determination in those bright blue eyes
Maybe he would visit.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid...for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.

I had no idea about Prussians in the Revolutionary war so that just made it even awesomer!
*Fave!
Well, there was actually just one Prussian, because Prussia was neutral. The Prussian was this old general who helped whip the American army into shape.
Thank you for the fave!
